Nachdem ich eine Fotografenlehre absolviert hatte, zog ich 1994 nach Berlin und studierte Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft.
Nebenbei dokumentierte ich bis zur Jahrtausendwende den städtebaulichen Wandel Berlins. 2013 entdeckte ich die alten Negative wieder, scannte sie für mein Projekt Berlin in den 90ern nach und nach ein und zeigte die Bilder in einem Blog. 2014 veröffentlichte ich im Berlin Story Verlag das Buch Rückblende. Berlin in den 90ern – und heute, für das ich zahlreiche Motive nochmal neu fotografierte, um einen unmittelbaren Vergleich zu ermöglichen.
Seit 2017 arbeite ich an einem dokumentarischen Projekt namens Sand, das sich mit den Leerstellen im Berliner Stadtbild befasst, die für meist kurze Zeit zwischen Abriss und Neubau entstehen. Eine Publikation ist in Vorbereitung.
Zusammen mit Hans Georg Hiller von Gaertringen startete ich 2018 das Blogprojekt Haus und Gesellschaft, in dem es um Besonderheiten der architektonischen Gestaltung des Berliner Stadtraumes geht. Während mein Blogpartner die Texte schreibt, bin ich für die Fotos verantwortlich.
2020/21 absolvierte ich die Masterclass an der International Photography School, Berlin.
2023 erschien mein Fotobuch “Sand. The Transformation of Berlin” im Verlag The Velvet Cell.

After finishing an apprenticeship as a photographer, I moved to Berlin in 1994 and studied media and communication studies.
Besides, I documented the urban change of Berlin until the turn of the millennium. In 2013 I rediscovered the old negatives, scanned them one by one for my project Berlin in the 90ies and showed the pictures in a blog. In 2014, I published the book Rückblende. Berlin in the 90ies – and today (Berlin Story Verlag), for which I photographed many motifs again to give a direct then and now comparison.
Since 2017, I have been working on a documentary project named Sand, which deals with the empty spaces in Berlin’s cityscape that are created for mostly short periods of time between demolition and new construction. A publication is in preparation.
Together with Hans Georg Hiller von Gaertringen, I started the blog project Haus und Gesellschaft (House and Society) in 2018, which is about special characteristics of the architectural landscape of Berlin. While my blog partner writes the texts, I am responsible for the photos.
In 2020/21, I took the Master Class at the International Photography School, Berlin.
2023 my photo book “Sand. The Transformation of Berlin” was published by The Velvet Cell.
